THE COLES, LEMONS, MEEKINS, WILLIAMS, WINFREE, WOODSON
NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

JANUARY 2026

GREETINGS FAMILY & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We give thanks to our Merciful Creator for blessing all who are reading this with the opportunity to enter a new year as we plan to come together again as the Coles, Lemons, Meekins, Williams, Winfree and Woodson families. It is indeed a blessing as we look forward to reconnecting, reflecting, and continuing to build upon the legacy that has been entrusted to us through generations. Whether near or far, young or seasoned, each of you is an extremely important part of the family bond that unites us.

Our reunion activities are for celebrating and honoring those who came before us, and for creating joyful memories for many generations to come. Through fellowship, laughter, and love, we are reminded that family is a gift, and togetherness is a glorious blessing.

We are grateful for each of you and look forward to each opportunity for us to gather at joyous events in unity, gratitude, and love.

With love, faith, and family pride,
Detrel M. Howell,  Chairwoman

“Ariana is celebrating success.”

So as some may know, I did a dual enrollment class my senior year at Thomas Nelson (known as Virginia peninsula community college now) for CNA. Exactly 9 days ago…I received an email saying I passed both my Written and Skills exam to receive my Certification for this class! I am glad to say I am a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and enjoyed completing my lecture, skills, & clinicals to get to this point! I couldn’t do it without my classmates & my professor! From going to class every day and passing with a 94%, to waking up at 6 AM to go be with elders who some were kind and some were grouchy, who some were easy to talk to and some weren’t, having a patient so kind and sweet who had always talked about his life who passed days later & going in at 7:30 AM to take my final test, nervous and second guessing myself about everything I have learned, has showed me that I am confident in myself and the reasons why I choose to be a part of this field. I’m so excited to see what the future holds.

Love,

Ariana Holloway

*CNA soon to be Pediatrician
